About Emocia

Emocia is an independent project for creating animated digital greeting cards, love letters, and long-distance gifts that feel more personal than a simple message in chat.

It started as a small experiment around Christmas 2025. Since then, more than 17,000 cards have been created with Emocia.

How Emocia started

I’m a software engineer based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Emocia started almost by accident.

My girlfriend and I run an online flower and gift shop in Bulgaria, so we spend a lot of time around birthdays, anniversaries, romantic gifts, and the personal messages people send with them.

Around Christmas 2025, that gave me the idea to build a small website for digital greeting cards.

The first version was very simple.

Then the Christmas holidays came, and I basically stopped working on the project for a while.

When I came back after the holidays, I was surprised to discover that people had already created more than 1,000 cards.

That was the moment I realized there might be something worth building here.

From a small experiment to a real product

I started rebuilding Emocia and, about a week before Valentine’s Day 2026, launched a much bigger second version with more features and a significantly better experience.

Within the days around Valentine’s Day, Emocia made its first 100+ sales.

Since then, people have continued discovering and using the product organically.

There is no large company or big development team behind Emocia. I build the product, work on the website, improve the experience, create new features, and pay close attention to feedback from the people using it.

Today, more than 17,000 digital cards and love letters have been created on Emocia, and that number continues to grow.

What makes an Emocia card different?

I never wanted Emocia to feel like a traditional eCard with a static image and a few lines of text.

An Emocia card unfolds page by page.

Each text or photo can become its own page. Text can appear letter by letter, while the pages themselves transition with animations.

Users can choose a background melody, a visual design, and effects such as hearts, confetti, snow, rain, and more.

The idea is to turn a personal message into a small interactive experience.

The final result feels somewhere between a digital greeting card, a personal letter, and a short cinematic story created for one person.

What you can create

Emocia can be used for many different occasions and moments.

You can create a personal digital greeting card for a birthday or celebration, write an online love letter, make something special for an anniversary, or send a long-distance gift that your partner can open instantly from anywhere.

The format stays simple, but the message, photos, music, design, and effects make every card personal.

Made to become a memory

Because Emocia cards already feel a little like video stories, I wanted people to be able to keep them outside the website too.

Premium cards can be exported as vertical 9:16 MP4 videos.

The video can be saved as a memory, sent directly to someone, or shared on TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts.

Every card can also be shared through a private link, so the person receiving it can open the experience instantly without installing an app.

You don’t need to pay to create something personal.

Emocia lets you create a free card with animated text, designs, background melodies, and visual effects.

If you want more pages, personal photos, MP4 video export, email delivery, and other Premium features, you can upgrade for $2.99.

The idea is simple: you should be able to create something meaningful first and decide later whether you need the additional features.

Private by design

The messages people create with Emocia are often deeply personal.

Cards are not publicly listed on the website and are not intended to appear in search engines.

Each card has its own private link that you can send directly to the person it was created for.

Only someone with access to that link can open the card.

Still an independent project

Emocia is still independently built and operated from Sofia, Bulgaria.

I’m continuously working on new features, designs, effects, and better ways for people to turn their words, photos, and memories into something special they can send to someone important.

The product has changed a lot since that first Christmas version, but the idea behind it is still the same:
